Another great post! From a religious point of view your post makes me think about the sacraments. Which help when the mind is full of doubt, "like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind".
What a helpful and interesting connection. Most people (and I include myself) know little about sacraments and how they work, including how they help connect and unify the disparate parts of the person. That an invisible concept can be practiced in a way that brings physicality to it, allowing it to be experienced in a fuller way, is powerful.
What a helpful insight about the importance of embodied existence and how that is becoming less and less prevalent, while also recognizing that "disembodiment" has been with us for as long as there have been books. Excellent! I'll be ruminating about this one.
Thanks, and I agree - it is fascinating. It hasn't helped us moderns to lose touch with the reality that we humans exist in 3 parts (body, spirit, mind)... and that losing cohesion among the 3 is basically a terrible idea that leads to bad outcomes.
